This is our story and the people behind The Spot
How did we get to where we are?
01. The first coworking in Slovakia
Ivan Debnár, Peter Gabriž, and Matej Ftáčnik founded the first coworking space in Slovakia. Their goal was to create a creative and inspiring environment that became the perfect foundation for Slovak startups.
02. Startup Summer
We organized a school for startups, where budding entrepreneurs gained the knowledge and support needed to successfully launch their projects.
03. The Spot Booster and the beginning of the sli.do
The first Slovak startup accelerator was created, which supports startups financially, with mentoring and space. The startup Sli.do, which has changed the way we interact at events, has started its journey at The Spot. In 2024, its founder Peter Komorník returned as an investor and co-owner.
04. Pop-up on the beach
During the summer days we opened a pop-up coworking zone on Mágio beach. The evening was dedicated to inspirational lectures, which we are still organizing today.
05. Opening of Sky Park
We officially opened the first three floors in the new The Spot space at Sky Park Offices, where we offer modern offices that foster collaboration, innovation and growth.
06. Expansion in Sky Park
We have gradually expanded and opened an additional three floors, where our members can find new offices, gaming zones, fitness centers and private cafés.
In addition, we have launched The Spot people – HR and talent management consultancy.
07. Arrival of investors
We welcomed Peter Komorník and Rast’o Hlaváč to our board, thanks to whom we launched the Fast Forward education and incubation programme.
Marcela Havrilová, who is the head of the Future Skills Hub educational workshops, has also joined the team.

What inspired you to found The Spot?
We founded The Spot with a clear vision. We wanted to create a space that would support the innovative ecosystem in the Central European region. We are proud that, after more than a decade of operation, our ambitious plan has helped startups become successful international companies.
